St. Nicholas offers adult education series after Vespers on Wednesday nights in the fellowship hall. These classes are open to all, and will be beneficial to newcomers and long-time Orthodox alike. Two Catechism units are specifically offered for those interested in being received into the Orthodox Church (see below). Contact Fr. Matthew with any questions. WINTER
The Orthodox Faith: Trinity, Salvation, Church
This 4-week Catechism Series 1 is offered in November and December, and it is the first of two Catechism units required for those preparing to be received into the Orthodox Church. It covers the central doctrines of the Orthodox Christian Church, making it suitable for anyone wanting to study the Christian faith.
SPRING
Cultivating the Christian Life: Holy Mysteries, Worship, Asceticism, and Prayer
This 8-week Catechism Series 2 continues in Spring before and during Lent. It is the second Catechism unit, which continues exploring the doctrine and practice of the Orthodox Christian Church. The schedule may vary, alternating with Lenten services. See the Google calendar for updates.
SUMMER
Faith and Food
This summer adult and family series is offered in June and July by members of the parish with a meal. We continue our practice of gathering on Wednesday night after Vespers; however, each lesson stands alone, allowing for summer travel.
St. Nicholas Church school offers classes September through May at 9:00 AM on Sundays for Preschool through 12th grade. We are following the Church school Curriculum cycle offered by the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America. Dr. Mary Fox is our Church School Director. Contact her for questions or if you are interested in volunteering.
Enrollment is not necessary, all children including guests are always welcome to attend our Church School program! However, we would like to encourage parents who anticipate your child being a significant presence in our classes, to register your children. This will help teachers as they prepare lessons and account for supplies. Registration is available in the member portal.
