To Open One's Heart: St. Nicholas Fall Retreat with Fr. Matthew Snowden

We hosted a parish retreat at the beautiful Pinson Mounds in 2016. Fr. Matthew gave a series of talks, drawn from the teachings of the desert fathers, exploring the role of the heart in the Christian life. As you consider your spiritual goals for 2017, we invite you to listen to "To Open One's Heart."

The talks are structured around the advice given to St. Arsenius in his pursuit of salvation to "flee, be silent, and pray always." So, Fr. Matthew discusses how to open one's heart through solitude, silence, and prayer.

"Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind (nous, heart), that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
