There are several almsgiving opportunities at St. Nicholas! We always accept donations for our food pantry, but you can find details about other short term projects and opportunities below:

FALL 2017: IOCC School Kits
We are currently collecting school supplies to assemble IOCC School Kits. We will have a community work day on August 26 at 10 AM to assemble the kits for shipping, and eat pizza when we're finished. In the meantime, you can bring donations to the church. Each kit will include:

- a 12" by 14" to 14" x 17" cotton or lightweight canvas bag with cloth handles (please, no reusable shopping bags or backpacks) (These have been donated!)
- One pair of blunt metal scissors (rounded tip)
- Three 70-count spiral or tape-bound notebooks of 8" x 10-1/2" ruled paper totaling 200-210 sheets. - Please do not provide loose-leaf or filler paper.
- One 30-centimeter ruler (12")
- One hand-held pencil sharpener
- Six new pencils with erasers
- One large eraser, 2-1/2"
- One box of 24 crayons (only 24)

ONGOING: Food Pantry
Donate money to the ongoing ministry of St. Nicholas, which includes the support of our priest, liturgical life, benevolence, and outreach.

Donate food items to St. Brigid's Food Pantry and the Little Free Pantry.

ONGOING: Parish and liturgical needs
Donate books to our parish library. Our collection includes books on Orthodox spirituality, patristics, scriptural studies and reference books, children's books, audio visual, and many other categories. You can browse our collection at the link.

Offer flowers in church. Parishioners are welcome to bring flowers to place before the icons at anytime, whether it is for a special feast or for a special prayer intention. Generally, you should offer a bouquet for both Christ and his Mother, but there are times when one might only bring flowers for a particular saint (e.g. on St. Nicholas's feast day or for the Akathist to the Mother of God). Vases are available in the kitchen for you to use.

Donate time! We always need volunteers to help with children's education, church cleaning, library maintenance, and special events. Contact Fr. Matthew if you would like to serve in any way!
