November: St. Raphael, The Nativity Fast, and the Presentation of the Theotokos

This November is full of liturgical celebrations! Here are a few upcoming events and reminders:

FEAST OF ST. RAPHAEL OF BROOKLYN is Saturday, November 4th. We will celebrate with the Akathist at 10:00 am.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS at 2:00AM this coming Sunday, November 5th.   Remember to set your clocks BACK one hour before retiring this Saturday night.

THE FORTIETH DAY of the repose of His Grace BISHOP ANTOUN of thrice-blessed memory is Friday, November 10th.

OFFICE CLOSED November 10-18. Readers' Vespers will be served November 11 and 18. Fr. John Troy Mashburn will serve Orthros and Divine Liturgy on November 12.

THE NATIVITY FAST  begins on Wednesday, November 15th and continues through Sunday, December 24th.  During the Nativity Fast we will pray the "Advent Paraklesis" on Wednesday nights in place of Vespers.

HIERARCHICAL VISIT IN MEMPHIS November 18-20. His Eminence Metropolitan JOSEPH and His Grace Bishop NICHOLAS will be at St. John's in Memphis. You are invited to attend the services in Memphis as you are able.

PRESENTATION OF THE THEOTOKOS is Tuesday, November 21st. We will celebrate with a Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am.

THANKSGIVING is the 23rd. The office will be closed. May your feasting and thanksgiving be blessed!

ASK ABOUNA WITH THE CHILDREN will be Wednesday, November 29th, at 6:30p, immediately after Nativity Paraklesis (6:00p). Kids, come with questions for Fr. Matthew!

THE ST. NICHOLAS FESTIVAL is December 2nd, and we'll be finishing our preparations throughout November. Please get involved and spread the word!
